Yuchai Generator Set Performance Testing Procedures

After Yuchai generator sets are assembled in the workshop, Dingbo Power diesel generator manufacturer conducts performance testing on each unit to ensure superior performance, stability, and strong power for every user. The main performance testing methods are as follows:

1.Engine Starting Success Rate Test

Test Method: The test should be conducted under the specified starting conditions in the product technical specifications. For each start command, after successful startup, suddenly apply 50% of the rated load (power factor 1.0) and run for 5 minutes, then shut down. Conduct 100 tests; the success rate should exceed 99%, otherwise, this item is deemed unqualified.

2.Generator Set Interconnection Test

Test Method: Two units should serve as mutual main/backup. Select one as the main unit, manually cut off the mains power; the main unit should start automatically and supply power after successful startup. Create a fault to make the main unit shut down automatically, and the backup unit should then start automatically and supply power. When mains power is restored, the backup unit should shut down automatically. If unqualified, identify and eliminate the cause. Test each unit as the main unit three times; if any test fails, this item is deemed unqualified.

3.Automatic Start Function Test for Automatic Generator Sets

Test Method: Connect the starting power supply, switch the unit operation mode to automatic, send the start command, and manually prevent successful startup; the unit should attempt automatic startup three times. Conduct three tests; if any test fails, double the number of retests. If any retest fails, this item is deemed unqualified.

4.Automatic Replenishment Device Test

Test Method: After complete connection of the control circuit, switch the operation mode to automatic, manually drain water/oil to low liquid level; automatic replenishment should activate. When the liquid level rises to high level, replenishment should stop automatically. Conduct three tests; if any test fails, double the number of retests. If any retest fails, this item is deemed unqualified.

5.Generator Set Protection Performance Test

Test Method: Simulate low oil pressure and high cooling water temperature protection; adjust output voltage for overvoltage protection; manually disconnect one phase for phase loss protection; increase load for overload protection. Conduct three tests for each protection item; if any test fails, double the number of retests. If any retest fails, this item is deemed unqualified.

6.Cooling Water and Oil Heating Test

Test Method: Connect the power supply; when water temperature is below 15°C, the heater should activate and stop when reaching 50°C. When oil temperature is below 15°C, the heater should activate and stop when reaching 30°C. Conduct three tests; if any test fails, double the number of retests. If any retest fails, this item is deemed unqualified.
