Solution When Diesel Oil Leaks Into The Generator Engine

Nov. 15, 2021

When we carry out after-sales maintenance of diesel generators, we often receive calls from users, reporting that when diesel generators are in normal use, we find that diesel has penetrated into the engine of diesel generators. What should we do at this time? In this article, Starlight Power Generation Equipment will be introduced in detail.

First of all, let me tell everyone that the diesel generator diesel leaks into the engine, that is, leaks into the oil pan. This is very harmful. It not only reduces the viscosity and oil pressure of the oil, but also dilutes various additives in the oil. If it penetrates in, it can even cause engine bearing burnout. Next, Starlight Power Generation Equipment will introduce some troubleshooting methods.

1. Fuel pump

The diesel generator fuel pump has a dual magnetic and manual shut-off valve. When the ignition switch is turned on, the magnetic shut-off valve opens. When the oil circuit is connected to the ignition switch, the closing valve seal and the oil circuit are closed. When the closing valve fails to seal, the fuel will automatically flow into the injector through the closing valve, and penetrate into the oil pan through the combustion chamber. At this time, the seal shut-off valve should be removed and replaced.

2. Syringe

The function of the diesel generator injector is to measure the fuel entering the combustion chamber. When it is too large or damaged, the fuel injected into the combustion chamber from the injector will drop and penetrate into the oil pan under the stopped state. At this time, we need to remove and replace the abnormal injector. If it fails, the upward and downward O-ring fuel will fall into the valve chamber and through the sealed combustion chamber, into the oil pan. At this time, it should be removed and replaced.

3. Fuel tank

The fuel tank of the fuel system at a higher position must have a manual valve installed at the fuel tank outlet to prevent fuel from passing through the float tank and fuel pump to the fuel injector. When the engine is turned off and the valve fails, the fuel passing through the combustion chamber will seep Oil pan. At this point, the valve should be repaired or replaced.

4. Floating tank

There must be float valve and cone valve installed in the float tank to keep the fuel level and make the fuel steady. When the float valve or poppet valve is in the closed state, it fails. Through the float tank, the fuel tank will enter the oil pan. At this point, the float valve or cone valve should be repaired or replaced.

5. Oil return is multifaceted

The fuel return manifold of the diesel generator fuel system is equipped with a one-way valve to keep the fuel injector inlet pressure stable and spray fuel through the float tank to prevent fuel leakage. When the one-way check valve fails, the fuel will flow through the return manifold and the injector into the oil pan. At this point, the one-way valve should be repaired and replaced.
