Before using Shangchai diesel generator sets, appropriate specifications of engine oil, diesel, and coolant should be selected according to the specific operating environment and conditions. Whether the quality and physical - chemical indicators of the selected oil, water, or other coolants are appropriate has a significant impact on the performance and service life of the diesel engine.

1. Diesel for Shangchai Diesel Generator Sets

When selecting diesel, the ambient temperature of the diesel engine's operating environment should be considered first. In the hot southern regions, light diesel with a higher pour point can be selected; in the cold northern regions, light diesel with a lower pour point must be used.

The less water and mechanical impurities in the diesel, the better. Otherwise, it is likely to cause early blockage of the filter and corrosion of parts.

The pour point of diesel should be at least 16 - 10°C lower than the lowest ambient temperature during the operation of the diesel engine to ensure its necessary fluidity.

For the 135 diesel engine under normal ambient temperatures, No. 0 or No. - 10 light diesel can be selected. If it is used in the southern regions, No. 10 light diesel can be chosen, while in the cold northern regions, No. - 35 light diesel or diesel with an even lower pour point can be used.

Diesel must be clean. Before use, it should be precipitated for a relatively long time (preferably seven days and nights) or filtered through a silk cloth to remove mechanical impurities.

2. Engine Oil for Shangchai Diesel Generator Sets

Engine oil is used to lubricate the moving parts of the diesel engine, cool and dissipate heat from these parts, carry away impurities, and prevent corrosion. The grade and quality of the engine oil used in Shangchai diesel generator sets not only affect the diesel engine but also have a certain impact on the service life of the engine oil. Therefore, users should select appropriate specifications of engine oil according to different diesel engine models and ambient operating temperatures. Generally, diesel engines with supercharging and a rated speed greater than 2000r/min should use CC - grade engine oil; for naturally aspirated diesel engines with a rated speed less than 2000r/min, CA - grade engine oil can be used. The engine oil should ensure good fluidity at the lowest ambient temperature and appropriate kinematic viscosity at the highest oil temperature.

If the 135 diesel engine is used in extremely cold regions, special thickened engine oil with a lower pour point should be selected.

The engine oil must be clean, and water should be prevented from entering it. When changing to engine oil of a different grade, the lubrication system should be cleaned before adding new engine oil.

Note: Never mix engine oils of different grades.
