Pay Attention Points When Volvo Diesel Generator Set Trips

Dec. 14, 2021

During the operation of Volvo diesel generator sets, tripping may occur. So why is there such a problem? In this article, Starlight Power Generation Equipment will take you to understand the handling and inspection of Volvo diesel generator set tripping phenomenon.

1. When the main circuit breaker at the outlet of Volvo diesel generator set transformer automatically trips, first check whether the Volvo diesel generator set indicating device has an obvious failure symbol. Sometimes the excitation should be cut off immediately. If there is no abnormal symbol, the machine and furnace are in good condition. Under normal circumstances, the personnel on duty should adjust the voltage and frequency of the Volvo diesel generator set within the normal range, check whether the high-voltage power supply of the set is tripped, and whether the starting transformer is connected to each other. Whether the power supply is normal.

2. According to the accident phenomenon and relay protection action, determine the nature and scope of the fault, and conduct a detailed external inspection of the Volvo diesel generator set transformer and related equipment to determine whether there are external fault characteristics.

3. If the busbar differential causes Volvo diesel generator set overcurrent protection, or the substation fault causes the unit overcurrent protection, check that the Volvo diesel generator set is normal outside, and after the fault is isolated, contact the network for adjustment and connect to the grid.

4. Before the trip, if there is a strong excitation, there is a current surge, which reflects the main protection (differential, heavy gas, etc.) of the transformer internal fault of the Volvo diesel generator set. The grid is operating normally and should be dealt with at this time.

5. If there is no strong excitation, there is no inrush current before the trip, the grid is operating normally, the engine and the furnace are normal, the water and hydrogen oil systems of the Volvo diesel generator set and the main transformer are normal, such as checking the unit and its circuit; checking the action protection, such as All normal Volvo diesel generator sets can start at zero voltage. If everything is normal during the boost process, you can connect to the grid and continue to find out the cause.

When the voltage rises, the strong excitation and automatic adjustment device must not be put into use, and the neutral point of the transformer high voltage side of the Volvo diesel generator set should be grounded. Finally, Xingguang Power Generation Equipment reminds that if an abnormal phenomenon occurs, the Volvo diesel generator set transformer should be immediately stopped for inspection.
