Inspection of AC diesel generator rotor: Inspection of rotor short circuit to ground. Using an ohmmeter 1 × The resistance between the slip ring 3 of rotor 1 and the shaft head of rotor 1 should be ∞ when checking the K Ω gear, otherwise it indicates a short circuit in the rotor coil and should be replaced.
Inspection of rotor coil open circuit and short circuit. Using 1 of ohmmeter 2 × Ω gear, check the resistance value between the two slip rings 3 of rotor 1, which should be between 2.8-3.0 Ω. If the resistance value is within the k Ω range, it indicates an open circuit in rotor 1. If the resistance value is lower than the above value, it indicates a short circuit in rotor 1.
Inspection of rotor slip ring wear. Check if there are any scratches on the surface of slip ring 3 and measure with caliper 2. If the depth of wear scars exceeds 0.22mm, rotor 1 or slip ring 3 should be replaced.
Inspection of stator: Inspection of stator coil short circuit to ground. Taking the Jetta sedan as an example, using the 1 ohmmeter × Check the resistance between the iron core 1 of the stator coil and the stator coil taps 2, 3, and 4 one by one at the K Ω gear, all of which should be infinite. If there is a smaller resistance value, it indicates that the stator coil is short circuited to ground and should be replaced.
Check for open circuit in the stator coil using an ohmmeter of 1 × Check the stator coil taps 1 and 2, 1 and 3, 2 and 3 one by one at the Ω gear, and the displayed value must be 0. If the measured value is at the K Ω level, it indicates an open circuit and the stator should be replaced.
Inspection of diode board: Taking Jetta as an example, use a multi-purpose tester 5 and simultaneously press the resistance and voltage measurement buttons 8 and 9.
Detect positive diode: black terminal 6 is connected to positive heat sink 1 (equivalent to B+) (positive diode negative), and red terminal 7 is connected to node 2 (positive diode positive) one by one.
Detect negative diodes: Red terminal 7 is connected to negative heat sink 3 (negative diode positive), and black terminal 6 is connected to node 2 (negative diode negative) one by one.
Detection of excitation diode: black terminal 6 is connected to excitation terminal 4 (i.e. D+) (negative pole of excitation diode), and red terminal 7 is connected to node 2 (positive pole of excitation diode) one by one.
All tests need to be conducted three times and their values should be between 50-80 Ω, otherwise replace the diode board.
