1.What are the processes of generator parallel operation?
Generator parallel operation can be divided into two processes: before parallel operation and after parallel operation. Before parallel operation, it can be understood as the PID adjustment mechanism, which requires adjusting the size of the intake valve, that is, the steam volume directly controls the speed between 500 and 3000 rpm. After parallel operation, generally only power PID adjustment is used. If the generator is at the rated speed of 3000 rpm, the load gradually increases from 0MW to about 50MW.
2.What is generator startup and parallel operation, and what are the differences before and after parallel operation?
Startup and parallel operation mainly involve adjusting the voltage and frequency of the generator to match those of the power grid.
Before parallel operation, the generator speed is determined by the size of the valve; a larger valve results in a faster speed, and a smaller valve results in a slower speed.
After parallel operation, the generator speed is strictly synchronized with the power grid and has no relation to the valve size, remaining at 3000 rpm. The valve determines the power; increasing the valve increases the power, and decreasing the valve reduces the power.
The stator of a generator, under active power conditions, determines the magnitude of active power based on the amount of oil, air, air, and water in the primary power source. The reactive power of the generator rotor is determined by the magnitude of the direct current input to the rotor under reactive power conditions.
3.Is the generator regulator a rectifier or a voltage stabilizer?
(1) Voltage regulator
The voltage regulator is used on synchronous alternating current generators to regulate the voltage. It can detect the generator port voltage and adjust the main magnetic field current by regulating the exciter to adjust the magnetic field, thereby controlling the voltage. The current technical level of voltage regulators is more advanced, with digital ones featuring strong environmental adaptability, harmonic resistance, millisecond-level response, and numerous excitation and voltage protection functions.
(2) Governor
The electronic governor is a control device for generator speed, with its core component being a thyristor voltage regulation circuit that controls the output voltage by changing the thyristor conduction angle. Its function is to maintain the engine speed at a constant level, ensuring the speed is not affected by load changes.
This electronic governor can also select the required speed according to the engine application scenario. During isochronous speed regulation, the electronic control system eliminates the difference between the set speed and the actual speed caused by load changes, keeping the engine at the original set speed. Depending on unit requirements, the unevenness potentiometer can also be adjusted to achieve a satisfactory static speed regulation rate for the speed regulation system.
