Today, we will briefly introduce the classification of filter elements of Cummins diesel generator oil filter.

Microporous filter paper filter element: a special filter paper impregnated with a resin, the stiffness and strength are greatly improved after heat curing treatment, and it can withstand a certain pressure difference. Because the paper filter element is inserted during use, the service life is shortened. In order to overcome this shortcoming, lining the inner wall of the filter element or lining the inner frame, or rolling out corrugated corrugations on the surface of the filter paper, its service life can be increased by 2-3 times. The paper filter element is usually not maintained, and a new one is replaced after it is blocked. However, sometimes because the filter element cannot be supplied temporarily, the used paper core can also be cleaned and maintained according to certain operating procedures. Carefully wash in kerosene or gasoline and backflush with air, then continue to use. The paper filter element is usually installed in the main oil channel for full-flow filtration, but it can also be installed in the branch circuit parallel to the main oil channel for shunting filtration.

Plastic filter element: It is made of engineering plastics with certain viscosity, heat resistance and corrosion resistance, and is molded and sintered into a porous filter element with depth filtration. This filter element can continue to be used after maintenance according to certain procedures.

Sawdust filter element: Sawdust filter element is also called sawdust filter element. The sawdust of red and white pine is used as raw material. It is sorted by screen, mixed with pulp for molding, dried and dehydrated. The raw material of sawdust filter element is single, the process operation is simple, and the filter fineness is good , which is its advantage. However, due to the compact structure of the filter element, the large resistance and the short service life, it can only be used for shunt filtration.

Winding filter element: Rolled with steel strip or brass strip, there is a convex shape at regular intervals on the surface, the height of the convexity is 0.04-0.09 mm, and the metal strip is wound around a corrugated surface with grooves On the cylinder, the bottom surface of the previous belt is in contact with the convex surface of the next belt, forming many gaps, which is the winding slot filter element.

Metal mesh filter element: 100-200 mesh per inch phosphor copper wire mesh or brass wire mesh is used as the filter element material, and the shape of the filter element is cylindrical and laminated. The metal mesh filter element has large flow rate, small resistance, reliable function and easy cleaning, and is often used for full-flow filtration. The filter fineness depends on the mesh size. In recent years, due to the development of the chemical industry, nylon material has been used as the skeleton to support the filter screen, and nylon cloth is used instead of the metal mesh. This structure saves non-ferrous metals and is beneficial to production development.

Centrifugal filter: Using the pressure energy of the lubrication system itself, the oil passing through the nozzle generates a reaction torque, which drives the rotor to rotate. The oil in the rotor separates solid impurities under the action of centrifugal force, and accumulates on the inner wall of the rotor. The oil in the center part becomes clean and flows from the nozzle back to the oil pan. This is how centrifugal filters work. If the oil in the central part of the rotor is directly introduced into the main oil passage, it becomes a full-flow centrifugal filter, and the aforementioned structure is called a split-flow centrifugal filter.

Look at the sheet filter element with new eyes: use a thin steel belt to punch into three shapes of steel sheet, filter sheet, spacer sheet, and scraper. The thickness of the filter is 0.1-0.2 mm, and the thickness of the spacer and the scraper is 0.06-0.08 mm. The filter element is composed of several filters and spacers stacked alternately. The scraper is fixed on another pillar, and each scraper is inserted between two filters. When the filter element is rotated, the dirt attached to the edge of the filter element is scraped off by the scraper, and settles at the bottom of the filter housing, which can pass through release the drain plug. The rotation of the filter element can be manually driven, foot driven, or mechanically driven.
