A 50Hz diesel generator set can be converted to 60Hz by increasing the rotational speed by 1.2 times, and the voltage will also increase by 1.2 times. The normal rotational speed of a 50Hz diesel generator set is 1500r/min, while that of a 60Hz diesel generator set is 1800r/min.

Reasons Why Diesel Generators Fail to Reach 50Hz

1.The power machinery (diesel engine, gasoline engine, etc.) has reached 1500 revolutions per minute, but the pulley ratio is not 1:1, which means that the generator speed does not reach 1500 revolutions per minute. If the speed is too low, the frequency will decrease. Only when the generator of Dingbo Power reaches the rated speed can it output the rated frequency and rated voltage.

2.The frequency meter is inaccurate or damaged. You can use a multimeter that supports frequency measurement to measure the actual AC frequency generated by the generator, or try replacing it with a new frequency meter of the same model.

You can increase the rotational speed further. The actual output voltage of a 380V generator is around 400V (including the output voltage of a 380V transformer). The voltage will drop during long-distance wire transmission.
