The valve seat ring of the generator set may fall off. Why is this? Generally speaking, the falling off of the valve seat ring of a generator set is caused by improper operation. The specific reasons for the falling off are as follows:
When replacing a valve seat ring for a generator set, it is necessary to maintain an interference fit between the valve seat ring and the seat hole on the cylinder head. For example, for a 485 diesel generator set, the intake valve does not have a valve seat ring and directly wants to fit with the valve seat hole on the cylinder head. However, the intake valve seat ring is made of standard steel with an interference amount of 0.073-0.125mm.
During installation, it is required to heat the cylinder head in engine oil to 80-100 degrees Celsius, cool the exhaust valve seat ring with solid carbon dioxide or other low-temperature methods, and quickly press it into the seat hole on the cylinder head. The purpose is to reduce the outer diameter of the seat ring due to cooling, reduce the amount of interference during assembly, and thereby avoid scratching and roughening the mating surface during installation. If the seat ring is knocked into the seat hole at room temperature, That is, it is possible to cause the valve seat ring to fall off and break the piston.
