Adjust WEVB System and Valve Clearance of Diesel Generator Set

The diesel generator set WEVB system is an auxiliary braking device, belonging to the engine retarder. Attention: When detecting valve clearance, the diesel engine should be in a cold state - below 60 ℃. When the feeler gauge slides between the valve stem top and rocker arm, and there is a feeling of blockage and sticking, the measured clearance value is accurate.

3. At this point, adjust the clearance of the valves for the first, second, third, and sixth cylinders of the four cylinder engine and the first, second, third, sixth, seventh, and tenth cylinders of the six cylinder engine (measured from the crankshaft pulley end). After adjusting the clearance with a feeler gauge, tighten the lock nut of the rocker arm and recheck the valve clearance until it meets the requirements.

4. Check or adjust the valve clearance.

6. Rotate the crankshaft by another 360 °, or mark the vibration damper and turn it by 360 °. At this point, adjust the clearance of the 4th, 5th, 7th, 8th and 4th, 5th, 8th, 9th, 11th, and 12th valves (measured from the crankshaft pulley end) of the four cylinder engine and the six cylinder engine.
