Power supply is the basic guarantee for the normal operation of IT equipment in the data center. Once a power supply failure occurs in the data center, it will cause business system downtime and data loss. 2. Features of standby power requirements.

II. Factors to be considered in the selection of diesel generator set.

 

1. High and low voltage backup power system selection.

 

The comparison is made from factors such as electrical system capacity and economy. Generally, high-voltage diesel generator sets are used in the following three situations:

(1) When a large data center has high-voltage or medium-voltage equipment.

(2) The number of parallel low-voltage diesel generator sets is large, and the bus current is too large to meet the requirements of bus current carrying capacity.

(3) The power supply line provided by the power supply department has a long distance.

 

2. Performance level.

Data centers have strict requirements on the frequency, voltage and waveform characteristics of diesel generator sets. The performance level of diesel generator sets using backup power should not be lower than G3.

 

3. Power selection.

The output power of the diesel generator set should meet the needs of the maximum average load of the data center. The output power of the A-level data center generator set should be selected according to the continuous operating power of COP. The B-level data center load nature, mains reliability and investment economy, generator set The output power can choose the limited time operating power LTP.

 

4. Power correction of generator set.

Consider the influence of environmental conditions on the output power of diesel generator sets, such as altitude, atmospheric pressure, temperature and other factors.

 

5. Redundancy requirements.

Determine the redundancy requirements of diesel generator sets according to the data center level and usage requirements, such as N+1, N+X, 2N to determine the number of diesel generator sets. It is also necessary to consider the future power growth requirements of the data center and set aside a certain amount of surplus capacity.

 

6. Unit automation requirements.

The unit starts and loads automatically, unloads and stops automatically, and the units are connected in parallel (automatically add and subtract).

 

7. Auxiliary configuration of generator set.

In the selection process of diesel generator set, auxiliary facilities such as unit coolant heating, oil heating, intake air heating, fuel heating, generator dehumidification heating, battery heating, etc. should be configured according to the specific working environment of the data center. Battery chargers, battery chargers, etc.

 

8. Fuel storage capacity.

An on-site oil storage device should be installed. A-level data center should meet 12h oil consumption. When the external oil supply time is guaranteed, the fuel storage capacity only needs to be greater than the external oil supply time.
