Maintenance of Yuchai Generator Set Radiator

For many users, the high temperature generated when the generator set starts is almost unbearable without a radiator, especially in hot weather. Many diesel generator manufacturers have also tried various methods to alleviate this situation. Without a radiator, the unit cannot start, which is very unfavorable for many enterprises. The daily maintenance of the radiator in Yuchai generator sets is a key focus. So what should be done during maintenance?

The maintenance cycle for the Yuchai generator set radiator is once every 200 operating hours or every year, whichever comes first.

External Cleaning:

Spray and clean with hot water (with detergent added). The method is to spray and rinse from the front of the radiator towards the fan (spraying from the opposite direction will only force the dirt into the center). When using this method, use tape to cover the diesel generator.

If this method cannot remove stubborn dirt, the radiator should be removed and immersed in hot alkaline water for about 20 minutes, then cleaned with hot water.

Internal Descaling:

Drain the water from the radiator, then remove the seals where the radiator is connected to the pipes.

Pour a 4% acid solution at 45°C into the radiator, drain the acid solution after 15 minutes, and inspect the radiator.

If there is still water dirt, clean again with an 8% acid solution.

After descaling, neutralize twice with a 3% alkaline solution, then rinse with clean water more than three times.

After all cleaning tasks are completed, check if the radiator is leaking. If there is a leak, apply to the diesel generator manufacturer for repair; if there is no leak, reinstall it. After reinstalling the radiator, add water again and add rust inhibitor.
