A decrease in hydrogen pressure can lead to numerous faults in generator sets, so maintaining the proper hydrogen volume is crucial. The specific hazards include: 1. Insufficient hydrogen inside the generator will result in inadequate cooling of the stator and rotor, causing high temperatures in the stator and rotor units that affect normal operation, along with increased unit vibration. 2. Reduced hydrogen pressure will also prevent the balance valve and differential pressure valve of the seal oil system from functioning properly. If hydrogen leaks, it may cause fires, lead to unsmooth seal oil return, and result in oil entering the engine, among other fault issues.
If the oil-hydrogen differential pressure is too large, part of the seal oil will flow into the engine. Generally, hydrogen pressure is required to be greater than water pressure. If the hydrogen pressure is too low or too high, it is necessary to promptly replenish or release hydrogen.
What are the causes of hydrogen pressure drop in a 50kW generator set?
1.Hydrogen leakage due to loose welds, valves, and flanges in the hydrogen pipeline system.
2.Hydrogen leakage at the joint surfaces of the machine base, end cover, and outlet cover caused by unfilled sealant in the seal groove or aging of sealant and rubber strips.
3.Excessive hydrogen leakage resulting from low seal oil pressure and defects in the sealing tile, leading to intermittent oil film formation.
4.Factors such as hydrogen leakage into the hydrogen cooler water and leaks in the hydrogen cooler.
5.Leakage at the insulated water pipe joints and stator internal cooling water system, causing hydrogen to leak into the internal cooling water and resulting in reduced hydrogen pressure.
How to handle hydrogen pressure drop in a 50kW generator set?
(1) If a hydrogen pressure drop is confirmed, immediately replenish hydrogen to maintain normal pressure.
(2) If hydrogen leakage prevents maintaining the rated pressure even after replenishment, report to the shift supervisor to reduce the load and take measures to eliminate the hydrogen leakage defect.
(3) The hydrogen pressure inside the generator must never drop to "0". If hydrogen supply is interrupted and pressure cannot be maintained, a small amount of hydrogen can be added to keep it operating at low pressure while waiting for hydrogen supply recovery.
(4) If operating valves are mistakenly operated, immediately restore them to their original positions and promptly replenish hydrogen according to the pressure situation.
(5) Adjust the seal oil pressure in a timely manner according to actual conditions to keep it within the normal range.
(6) Use the enclosed busbar and micro-positive pressure device to maintain normal generator operation.
