Fire Prevention Measures for Diesel Generators

Diesel generators use fuel and fumes that are flammable and potentially explosive. Careful handling of these substances can prevent problems before they occur. At the same time, the diesel generator room should ensure that there are full CO2 and dry powder fire extinguishers for safety.

Dingbo power generation equipment reminds users that they must know how to use these appliances:

1. Ensure that the engine room where the generator set is placed has sufficient ventilation conditions.

2. Make sure the machine room, floor and generator set are clean. If there is fuel, battery electrolyte or coolant leaks, it should be dealt with immediately.

3. Do not store flammable liquids near the engine.

4. Smoking or sparking near the battery and fuel is not allowed, or other behaviors that cause an open flame. Because the gas volatilized by the fuel can cause an explosion, and the fluorine gas generated by the charging of the battery can also cause an explosion.

5. The wipes stained with oil should be stored in a container with a metal lid.

6. Disconnect the battery charger from the power supply before connecting or disconnecting the battery.

7. Keep conductive objects, such as metal tools, away from exposed live parts, such as output electrodes, to prevent arcs or sparks, which will cause fuel or gas to explode.

8. Never inject fuel into the fuel tank when the machine is running.

9. Never try to start the machine when it is known that there is a fuel leak.

10. Be especially careful when there is excess unburned gas accumulated in the exhaust system, as there is a potential risk of explosion. These gases are not started due to repeated starting, or accumulated due to checking the gas valve, and the gas should be exhausted before starting.
