1. Accelerate wear of parts and reduce output power
When the temperature of the cooling water in the water tank is too low, the temperature of the lubricating oil will decrease. When the temperature is low, the viscosity of the oil will be large, and its fluidity will become poor. This will not only increase the wear of the parts of the diesel generator set, but also increase the mechanical power loss due to the increase of the movement resistance of the parts, and the output power of the diesel generator set will decrease.
2. If the ambient temperature is too low, the cylinder temperature will be very low
The water vapor in the cylinder is easy to condense on the cylinder wall, while the sulfur dioxide generated during the combustion of diesel generator set will become a strong line of corrosive agent and adhere to the cylinder wall when it meets the water condensed on the cylinder wall, so the surface of the cylinder wall will be strongly corroded, resulting in loose metal structure on its surface; When the cylinder liner and piston ring are scraped by friction, the loose metal on the surface of the corrosion layer will wear off quickly, or there will be corrosion spots and pits on the working surface of the cylinder liner.
3. Increased heat loss and fuel consumption
When the diesel generator set works at low temperature, the cooling water takes away a large amount of heat energy in the cylinder, which increases its heat loss; If the mixture is not well formed and burned, the fuel consumption will increase by 8%? 10%； After entering the cylinder, the fuel in the form of droplets will wash the lubricating oil film on the cylinder wall and seep into the crankcase, which will increase the wear of parts, dilute the lubricating oil in the oil pan, increase fuel consumption and reduce power output.
4. Combustion deterioration and overall performance deterioration
Some heated and expanded parts are not expanded to the proper size due to the low temperature, thus affecting the working performance of the whole machine, such as the gap between the piston and the cylinder is too large, and the sealing is not good; The valve clearance is too large and is impacted by the rocker arm, which makes it difficult to start the diesel generator. When the diesel engine is working, the high temperature of the compressed gas is a necessary condition to ensure the ignition of the fuel. When the temperature of the cylinder, piston and other parts decreases, the temperature at the end of compression will drop, the ignition delay and the combustion conditions will deteriorate, resulting in incomplete combustion of the fuel, rough operation of the diesel generator and exhaust smoke.
