Working Principle of Deutz Generator Sets

A diesel generator is a mechanical device that converts the chemical energy of diesel into mechanical energy and then into electrical energy. Its power generation principle is that other auxiliary power drives the crankshaft of the diesel generator to rotate, making the piston move up and down at the top of the closed cylinder. When the piston moves from top to bottom, the intake valve of the cylinder opens, and outdoor air is filtered by the air filter device and enters the cylinder, completing the intake stroke.

When the piston moves from bottom to top, the intake and exhaust valves of the cylinder are closed. Under the compression of the upward piston, the gas volume is rapidly compressed, causing the temperature in the cylinder to rise rapidly, completing the compression stroke. When the piston reaches the top, the fuel filtered by the oil filter device is atomized and injected through the high-pressure fuel injector, mixing with the high-temperature and high-pressure air for violent combustion. At this time, the gas volume expands rapidly, pushing the piston to do work downward.

Each cylinder works in a certain order. The thrust acting on the piston is converted into the force driving the crankshaft to rotate through the connecting rod, thereby driving the crankshaft to rotate and completing the power stroke. After the power stroke, the piston moves from bottom to top, and the exhaust valve of the cylinder opens to exhaust, completing the exhaust stroke. Each stroke rotates the crankshaft half a circle. After several working cycles, the diesel unit gradually accelerates and rotates under the inertia of the flywheel.
