1. Loosen the bleed screw on the fuel injection pump, use the fuel hand pump to remove the air in the fuel system, and fix the adjustment control handle at the throttle position suitable for the starting speed.

2. Press the start button to start the diesel engine. If the diesel engine still fails to start after 10 seconds (up to 15 seconds), it should wait for 1 minute before starting the second time. If it still fails to start for three consecutive times, check and find out cause of issue.

3. After the diesel engine is started, pay close attention to the reading of the oil pressure gauge (2.5-㎡ in normal operation). If the oil pressure gauge does not indicate, immediately stop the engine to check, and check whether the ammeter has a charging indication.

4. After the unit starts, the no-load speed gradually increases to -/min, (be careful not to run at low speed for a long time), and after the preheating process of the diesel engine, increase the speed to the rated speed. When the outlet water temperature reaches 55°C and the oil temperature reaches 45°C, it is allowed to enter full load operation.

5. When each instrument of the unit indicates normal, the load switch can be turned on to send electricity to the load. With the change of the load of Cummins diesel generator set, if the frequency and voltage are not within the specified range, the frequency and voltage should be adjusted in time to keep it rated value, it is strictly forbidden to load the unit at low speed, so as not to damage the equipment.

6. After the unit is put into normal operation, you should always pay attention to observe the changes of water temperature, oil temperature and oil pressure, as well as the readings of power meter, frequency meter, ammeter and voltmeter. Any abnormality should be dealt with in time.
