1.How to solve the problem of uneven height of generator set bearings?

If the bearing is too high, tightening the torque will cause the bearing to deform as shown in the figure. The solution is to file off a small amount at the end without the positioning block. If the bearing is too low, the bearing will move in the seat hole.

The solution is to place a thin copper sheet equal in size to the bearing on the back of the bearing, but it should be ensured that there is a certain alloy layer after scraping and matching, and attention should be paid to leaving the oil hole. It is absolutely not allowed to place paper or materials with poor thermal conductivity on the back of the bearing to avoid affecting the bearing heat dissipation. And this method can only be used during minor and medium repairs, and is absolutely not allowed during major repairs. After tightening the torque, the bearing must not have any movement in the seat, and the contact area between the back of the bearing and the seat hole should not be less than 75%, otherwise, it will also cause poor lubrication and heat dissipation.

2.How to correctly select diesel generator bearings

① Identification of old bearings

If the bearing is of good quality, appropriate size, correct scraping method, and good usage condition, it can be used for several medium repair periods. However, during the major repair of the internal combustion engine, the bearing must be replaced. During minor or medium repairs of the internal combustion engine, if the bearing is found to have any of the following conditions, it cannot continue to be used:

a. The fit clearance between the shaft and the bearing is too large and cannot be adjusted.

b. The bearing surface has cracks, alloy falling off, severe scratches, or even bearing burning.

c. The bearing alloy layer is thinner than 0.2mm.

d. The elasticity is significantly lost, and the out-of-roundness exceeds the normal range (internal combustion engine < 0.07mm).

② Quality requirements for new bearings

a. Both ends of the bearing should be 0.05mm higher than the bearing seat.

b. The bearing should be free of sand holes, dull sounds, cracks, and rough back surfaces.

c. The positioning points should be well positioned.

d. The bearing oil holes should be aligned as much as possible, with an error not exceeding 0.5mm.
