Precautions for Diesel Generator Set Components

A diesel generator set consists of a diesel engine, an AC synchronous generator, a control panel, as well as a chassis, coupling, radiator, fuel tank, etc. Some are also equipped with mufflers and outer covers. 1.Diesel Engine

The diesel engine is the heart of the entire machine, providing a continuous power source for the machine to perform various tasks. Users should operate the diesel generator set carefully and correctly to avoid damaging the unit.

(1) Do not start operation immediately after starting. After starting, it should idle at low speed for a while until the machine temperature rises and the oil pressure is normal before putting it into operation. This can prevent rapid temperature rise from damaging the machine parts.

(2) Do not turn off the engine immediately after stopping operation.

(3) The machine temperature should not be too high.

(4) Lubrication must be reliable.

2.Generator

The generator is composed of a stator frame, windings and insulating materials, a rotor, bearings at both ends and end covers. For generator maintenance, attention should be paid to: keeping the generator clean and free of dust; frequently checking the appearance of the generator to see if there are any misplaced parts; regularly checking the bearings for replacement or oiling, and also checking the incoming wire connections. Periodically check the temperature of the motor, measure the temperature rise with a thermometer, which should not exceed the maximum allowable value.

3. Control Panel

The generator control panel is a control panel used to control and operate the generator set, integrating the functions of the generator set to realize the control of the generator. At the same time, our generator set maintenance technicians can also judge the faults of the generator by checking the display parameters on the control panel.

The control panel is divided into ordinary control panel and fully automatic control panel. The ordinary control panel is suitable for the control of ordinary diesel generator sets, and the start and stop of the generator set, power supply and power failure, state adjustment, etc. are all operated manually; the automatic generator set control panel is suitable for the control of automatic diesel generator sets, and the start and stop of the generator set, power supply and power failure, state adjustment, etc. can be completed by two operation modes: manual or automatic.

4. Radiator

The radiator is very important for the generator. The main function of the radiator is to help the diesel generator set dissipate heat. During the operation of the generator set, there are many situations that may cause corrosion to the radiator and affect its normal use. It can be sprayed and cleaned with low-pressure hot water and detergent, spraying steam or water from the front of the radiator towards the fan, or removing the radiator and immersing it in hot alkaline water for about 20 minutes, then rinsing with hot water.
