Many people may be curious about what excitation permanent magnet gasoline generators are, how they work, and what the differences are. Today, the editor from Dingbo Power Generator Manufacturer will share relevant knowledge, hoping to be helpful to everyone.
Permanent magnet generators and excitation generators have different meanings.
1.A permanent magnet generator is a power generation device that converts mechanical energy, derived from thermal energy, into electrical energy.
2.An excitation generator refers to a dedicated excitation power source specifically set up to provide excitation current, as the excitation power of the traction generator on an electric transmission diesel locomotive is relatively large.
Permanent magnet and excitation gasoline generators have different working principles.
1.For permanent magnet generators: The permanent magnet serves as both the magnetic source and a component of the magnetic circuit in the generator. The magnetic properties of the permanent magnet are not only related to the manufacturing process of the production factory but also to the shape and size of the permanent magnet, as well as the capacity and method of the magnetizer, resulting in significant discreteness in specific performance data. Moreover, the magnetic flux and magnetomotive force that the permanent magnet can provide in the generator also change with the material properties, dimensions of the remaining parts of the magnetic circuit, and the operating state of the generator.
2.For excitation generators: The generator terminal voltage is stepped down by a voltage transformer and input to the measurement unit. In the measurement unit, the voltage signal is measured and compared, and the voltage deviation is input to the intermediate amplifier unit for amplification. This amplified signal serves as the control voltage for the phase-shifting unit to correspondingly change the phase angle of the trigger pulse from the trigger unit, thereby altering the control angle of the automatic thyristor and the excitation voltage value of the AC exciter.
Which has greater advantages between permanent magnet and excitation gasoline generators?
1.Permanent magnet gasoline generators have a simple structure, with a large rotor magnetic field, no excitation windings, no carbon brushes, no contacts, no slip rings, and a large air gap, resulting in fewer wearing parts. The only wearing part is the bearing. There is no need for an external regulator, which improves product reliability. The reasonable spacing design of the magnetic conductor materials can reduce magnetic leakage, further enhancing the generator's idle performance.
2.Excitation gasoline generators have poor idle power generation performance due to their less reasonable structural design, making the battery prone to being fully discharged. Because the rotor has an excitation coil, the overall temperature of the generator is high, resulting in an efficiency of only 40%-50% at the generator speed. Excitation generators are also prone to problems such as damage to carbon brushes and slip rings.
