When using a diesel generator set, users must strictly follow the operation instructions. The machine uses standard 0# diesel, and the engine oil must meet relevant required standards. If the oil pressure drops to zero during operation, check for the following situations and correct them promptly.

1.Oil pipeline rupture

During the operation of the generator set, if the oil pressure warning light is on and the pressure is zero, check whether the oil pipeline has suddenly ruptured, causing a large amount of oil leakage.

2.Malfunction of oil pressure gauge

If there is no oil leakage, unscrew the sensor plug and observe whether a large amount of oil spurts out rapidly. If oil spurts out rapidly, it indicates that the oil pressure gauge is malfunctioning, and the oil pressure gauge should be replaced.

3.Attention for newly overhauled units

In the case of a newly overhauled engine, it is necessary to check whether the filter gasket is installed reversely or if the holes on the gasket are blocked, preventing oil from entering the main oil passage. This phenomenon requires careful attention!

4.Abnormal failure of oil pump

If no abnormalities are found in the above checks, the fault may occur in the oil pump. If the key on the oil pump drive shaft is sheared or the pump gear is stuck by foreign objects, it may stop running, causing the oil pressure to drop to zero. In this case, the oil pump, filter screen should be cleaned and the damaged parts replaced.

To ensure the normal output of the generator set and prolong its service life, it is necessary to master the correct operation methods and perform regular maintenance on the unit. Before starting, generally check: whether the lubricating oil pressure and power meet the requirements; cooling water and oil temperature; whether the engine sound and unit exhaust are normal; whether there is leakage of fuel, coolant or lubricating oil. After 50 hours of running-in, the engine oil and fuel filter must be replaced. For the air filter, the replacement can be determined according to the actual operating environment.

Method for replacing and adding engine oil: Open the oil filler port - add engine oil. When adding oil, pay attention to the oil dipstick and fill it between the scale marks. Do not add too much oil.
