Cummins engines are small power generation equipment that use diesel or other fuels, with engines as prime movers to drive generators. A complete unit typically includes components such as diesel engines, generators, control boxes, fuel tanks, batteries for starting and control, protection devices, and emergency cabinets.
Cummins engine parts refer to the components or parts used in assembling Cummins engines. There is a wide variety of Cummins parts, including diesel filters, oil-water separators, oil filters, air filters, seals, gaskets, pistons, injectors, oil pipes, various connectors, sensors, bearings, shaft seals, batteries, etc. Users must pay attention to unit maintenance and inspection to ensure the normal operation of the unit and its parts! Today, the editor from Dingbo Power Generator Manufacturer will share Cummins engine parts maintenance tips.
1.Avoid Dirt
Fuel filters, oil filters, air filters, hydraulic oil filters, and various filters will have reduced filtering efficiency if they become too dirty. Overly dirty components like radiator fins, cooling fins on air-cooled engine blocks and cylinder heads, and cooler fins will cause poor heat dissipation and overheating.
2.Avoid Overheating
Excessively high temperatures in engine pistons can lead to overheating, melting, and cylinder seizure. Rubber seals, V-belts, tires, etc., will age prematurely, degrade in performance, and shorten service life when overheated. Coils in electrical equipment such as starters, generators, and regulators are prone to burning out if overheated.
3.Avoid Missing Parts
Engine valve locks should be installed in pairs; missing or omitted locks will cause valve misalignment and damage to pistons and other components. Anti-loosening devices such as split pins, lock screws, safety washers, or spring washers installed on engine connecting rod bolts, flywheel bolts, and drive shaft bolts, if missing, may lead to serious failures during use. Missing oil nozzles for lubricating gears in the engine timing gear chamber will cause severe oil leakage there.
4.Avoid Reversal
Engine cylinder gaskets must not be reversed during installation, as this will cause premature ablation and damage. Engine fan blades must not be reversed during installation. For tires with directional tread patterns (e.g., herringbone patterns), the ground imprint after installation should point the herringbone tips toward the rear.
