Engine valve locks should be installed in pairs; missing or omitted locks will cause valve misalignment and damage to pistons and other components. Anti-loosening devices such as split pins, lock screws, safety washers, or spring washers installed on engine connecting rod bolts, flywheel bolts, and drive shaft bolts, if missing, may lead to serious failures during use.
