Structural Form of Type 6135 Diesel Engine Exhaust System

The working principle of the intake and exhaust system is to open and close the intake and exhaust valves of each cylinder regularly according to the working cycle and ignition sequence of the 6135 diesel engine to ensure that fresh air is charged into the cylinder and the exhaust gas produced by combustion is eliminated. The intake and exhaust system of 6135 diesel engine is mainly composed of air filter, intake and exhaust pipes and muffler.

1. Air filter

The function of the air filter is to filter out dust and impurities in the air, and send clean air into the cylinder to reduce the wear of the piston connecting rod group, valve train and cylinder. The requirements for the air filter are: high filtering efficiency, low resistance, long application cycle and easy maintenance. There are three ways to filter the air filter.

(1) Inertial type (centrifugal type): Using the characteristics of high density of dust and impurities in the air composition, by guiding the airflow to rotate or turn sharply, under the action of centrifugal force, the dust and impurities are separated from the air.

(2) Oil bath type (wet type): The air is passed through the oil, and the air impurities are deposited in the oil and filtered.

(3) Filter type (dry type): guide the air flow through the filter element, so that dust and impurities are adhered to the filter element.

In order to obtain a better filtration effect, a comprehensive filtration of the above two or three methods can be used. The air filter is composed of a filter shell and a filter element, etc., and the filter shell is stamped from a thin steel plate. Filter elements include wire filter elements and paper filter elements.


2. Intake and exhaust pipes

The function of the intake and exhaust pipes is to guide fresh working medium into the cylinder and discharge the exhaust gas from the cylinder. The intake and exhaust pipes should have less airflow resistance to reduce intake and exhaust resistance. Modern internal combustion engines also require that the structural shape of the intake and exhaust pipes is conducive to the inertia of the airflow and the pressure pulsation effect, so as to improve the utilization rate of the charge and exhaust energy.

The intake and exhaust pipes are generally made of cast iron. The intake pipe is also made of aluminum alloy casting or steel plate stamping and welding. The intake and exhaust pipes are fixed on the cylinder with bolts (overhead valve mechanism), and the joints are equipped with sealing gaskets to prevent air leakage. The airflow in the intake pipe of the internal combustion engine is fresh air (or combustible mixture). In order to avoid being heated by the exhaust pipe and reducing the amount of charge, the intake and exhaust pipes of modern internal combustion engines are arranged on both sides of the body.


3. Muffler

 When the waste discharged from the 6135 diesel engine flows in the exhaust pipe, due to the influence of the opening and closing of the exhaust valve and the reciprocating motion of the piston, the air flow is in the form of pulsation and has a large energy. If the exhaust gas is directly discharged into the atmosphere, a strong exhaust noise will be produced. The function of the muffler is to reduce exhaust noise and eliminate sparks in the exhaust gas.

It works by reducing the pressure fluctuations of the exhaust and dissipating the energy of the exhaust flow. Generally, the following methods are used:

(1) Change the airflow direction several times;

(2) Make the airflow pass through the circulation section combined with contraction and expansion for many times

(3) Divide the airflow into many small tributaries and flow along the uneven surface:

(4) Reduce the airflow temperature.
