Additionally, if the sand and iron filings are not thoroughly removed during the assembly of a new diesel engine, dust and dirt can enter during operation, which is also a major cause of accelerated wear, bearing scoring, and burning.
The peeling of the bearing is mainly due to fatigue damage. Since the magnitude and direction of the load on the bearing change over time, when the load is unstable, a uniform and continuous oil film cannot be maintained between the friction surfaces of the bearing, and the pressure of the oil film also changes in a pulsating manner. At the minimum oil film thickness, high temperatures are generated in local areas of the bearing surface, greatly reducing the fatigue resistance of the alloy layer. Moreover, poor manufacturing and assembly of the bearing itself are also direct causes of alloy layer peeling.
