How to Extend the Service Life of Trailer-Mounted Generators

Jan. 15, 2026

Mobile diesel generator sets, also known as mobile power stations, feature innovative design, high mobility, excellent manufacturing, attractive appearance, low center of gravity, and reliable braking safety. They adopt a leaf spring suspension structure with reasonably selected nodes, ensuring high strength and rigidity. Equipped with handbrake, air brake, rear taillight and other systems, they meet road driving requirements. Mobile power stations not only offer flexible operation but also possess good sealing performance and safety, making them widely used in construction sites, highways, railway construction, temporary locations and other electricity-consuming places.

Trailer-mounted mobile power stations are available in single-axle double-wheel or connecting-axle four-wheel structures. Trailer-type diesel generators adopt a double-axle four-wheel chassis structure, and the steering system can be wheel-type or turntable-type. A spring shock absorption device is installed between the generator and the traveling mechanism to absorb harmful vibrations and ensure the safe operation of the unit under various conditions. A supporting wheel is arranged at the front end of the frame, which functions to bear the vertical load of the unit and also has a guiding function. The fuel supply system of the generator set is designed as follows: the diesel generator set is equipped with a basic fuel tank for supplying fuel to the generator set, and the design capacity of the fuel tank can meet the continuous operation of the parallel units for more than 8 hours.

Then, how should we extend the service life of trailer-mounted generator sets? When using them, we need to pay attention to the following points:

1.Timely maintenance and replacement of unit filters. For example, the air filter should be cleaned of dust every 50-100 hours of operation. A soft brush can be used to brush off the surface dust. If the operating time exceeds 500 hours or it is damaged, it should be replaced in time. Another example is the oil filter, which should be cleaned every 180-200 hours of operation. If any damage is found, it should be replaced immediately to prevent impurities from entering the lubricating surfaces.

2.Regularly inspect and clean the battery terminal posts to keep them clean.

3.Regularly check the charging status of the battery pack to ensure good charging effect.

4.Regularly inspect the condition of the fan belt to ensure there is no damage and it is at the normal tightness.
