How to Carry Out The Civil Work of Diesel Generator Set?

During the civil construction of the diesel generator set room, the electrical designer must provide the civil construction conditions to the civil engineer. The content of civil construction conditions is generally that the length, width and height of the machine room must meet the requirements of the unit. It is necessary to leave equipment to go in and out and the personnel on duty to go in and out, and ensure that the diesel generator set can be pushed out and so on when the equipment goes in and out. 1. The height, length and width of the diesel generator room must meet the requirements of the unit. For small units, if the fuel tank, the electric control box and the unit belong to the same whole, and the center line of the unit coincides with the central axis of the machine room, a patrol inspection channel of about 1.5m should be left between the unit and the wall, and the radiator should be as close to the hot air as possible. Exit shutters, so that the required dimensions of the length, width and height of the machine room can be calculated.

2. It is necessary to leave equipment to go in and out and the personnel on duty to go in and out. The equipment must be in and out to ensure that the unit can be pushed out. If limited by conditions, the door for entering and exiting equipment can also open a small door for personnel to enter and exit; in the place for the radiator of the diesel engine, hot air should be left to discharge the shutters. If the whole air-cooled unit is not used, a reserved hole for the cooling water pipe to pass through the floor should be reserved.

3. According to the height and exhaust direction of the diesel generator set, the exhaust pipe channel casing should be pre-buried on the wall.

4. According to the weight of the unit, the civil construction should make the corresponding foundation, and according to the size of the unit chassis, the corresponding machine base should be made, and the holes for the buried corner screws should be reserved.

5. Set up cable trenches or pre-buried pipes according to the position of the incoming and outgoing wires and the electric control box.

6. The air in and out of the diesel engine room should not be set on the same wall to avoid short circuit of air flow and affect heat dissipation. But when it is really difficult, the air outlet should be in the upper part and the air inlet should be in the lower part, and the distance between the two should be more than 2m. The area of the air outlet should not be less than 1.5 times the area of the radiator of the diesel engine; the area of the air inlet should not be less than 1.8 times the area of the radiator of the diesel engine.

In the cold area, attention should be paid to the influence of the air inlet and air outlet on the temperature of the engine room, so as to avoid the low temperature of the engine room affecting the starting of the diesel generator set. The air door can be set at the connection between the air outlet and the outdoor, which is usually closed, and can be automatically opened when the diesel generator set is running.
