Gas Distribution Mechanism of Volvo Generator Set

The valve distribution mechanism of Volvo generator set has a variety of structural forms. According to the position of the valve relative to the cylinder of Volvo generator set, it can be divided into side valve train arranged at the side of the cylinder of Volvo generator set, and top valve train arranged at the top of the cylinder. The combustion chamber with side valve mechanism has a large transverse area and a compact structure. Due to the restrictions of airflow and valve movement of Volvo generator set, its height cannot be too small. When the compression ratio is greater than 7.5, it is difficult to arrange the combustion chamber. According to the position of camshaft, it can be divided into upper camshaft type, middle camshaft type and lower camshaft type. According to the transmission mode between crankshaft and cam, it can be divided into gear transmission mode and chain transmission mode. It is composed of camshaft, tappet, push rod, valve rocker arm and valve of Volvo generator set. The intake and exhaust are arranged on the cylinder head with the valve head downward and the valve tail upward. If the camshaft is close to the crankshaft of Volvo generator set to facilitate the transmission, the distance between the cam of Volvo generator set and the valve is longer.

In the middle of the valve of Volvo generator set, a series of parts such as tappets, push rods and rocker arms must be used to drive the valve, which makes the valve mechanism more complex and the stiffness of the whole system worse. When the cam of Volvo generator set turns to the convex part and contacts with the tappet, the tappet starts to rise, and the rocker arm rotates around the rocker arm shaft through the push rod and adjusting screw. When the Volvo generator set presses down the valve, the inner and outer valve springs are also compressed. When the highest point of the protruding part of the camshaft of the Volvo generator set rotates the tappet plane, the tappet and push rod drop with the rotation of the cam. The valve spring compressed by Volvo generator set lifts the valve upward through the valve spring seat and valve key plate, and finally compresses it to the valve seat to close the valve. The valve spring of Volvo generator set shall have a certain pre tightening force during installation to ensure that the valve of Volvo generator set is closely matched with the valve seat without leakage.
