1.For some units, if the internal combustion engine dial is already equipped with a tachometer and the unit does not need to operate in parallel, there is no need to configure a frequency meter.

 

2.Some units are equipped with a complete set of instruments for observing and monitoring the stator operation (such as voltmeters, ammeters, power meters, power factor meters, frequency meters, etc.), which can ensure that the generator operates within the rated voltage, current, power and power factor, and the excitation current of the generator will not exceed the rated value. In such cases, a DC ammeter may not be necessary.

 

3.For some units, the main purpose is to ensure operational safety, and the observation of power is not critical, so a power meter may not be installed. However, to ensure the safe operation of the generator, it is essential to ensure that the generator does not have overvoltage. Generally speaking, when there is no current in the stator and rotor, it is necessary to configure an AC voltmeter, an AC ammeter and a DC ammeter.

 

The following two points should be noted when selecting electrical measuring instruments:

①Selection of accuracy of electrical measuring instruments. To ensure measurement accuracy, it is better to choose instruments with higher accuracy. However, due to the small surface of the instruments in the unit control box and poor operating conditions, high-precision instruments are generally not required.

 

② Selection of range of electrical measuring instruments. When selecting the range of electrical measuring instruments, the indicator of the instrument should be approximately 2/3 of the range when the generator is operating at rated load. If the pointer indicates a scale lower than this proportion, it means the instrument range is too large; if the pointer indicates a value higher than this scale, it means the instrument range is too small, which sometimes cannot meet the operating requirements of the unit.
