Development Trend and Operational Monitoring of Diesel Generator Sets

For example, domestic diesel generator sets are equipped with diagnostic modules, through which maintenance personnel can read data via infrared interfaces, identify overloads, and count working life.

At present, maintenance personnel of diesel generator sets identify the operating status of diesel generator sets by checking various conditions on the unit's instruments.

(1)Ammeter: Observe whether the ammeter pointer indicates normally. Switch the current changeover switch to measure the phase current values between each phase sequence. Under normal circumstances, the difference between each phase sequence should not exceed 10%.

(2)Voltmeter: Observe whether the voltage value indicated by the voltmeter pointer is normal.

(3) Charging meter: Observe whether the charging meter pointer is in the (+) direction. If the pointer deviates to the (-) direction, it indicates no charging.

(3)Oil pressure gauge: Observe whether the oil pressure indicated by the oil pressure gauge is within the normal range.

(4)Water temperature gauge: Observe whether the water temperature gauge indicates within the normal range (65~93℃). If the pointer does not move or is higher than 93℃, it is abnormal.

(5)Tachometer: Observe whether the engine speed is appropriate. Under normal circumstances, if the frequency is 60Hz, the speed is 1800r/min.

(6)Sound and vibration: Listen carefully to the running sound. Under normal circumstances, there should be no abnormal sound or vibration.
