Types of generator transfer switches

There are two main types of transfer switches:

(1)Manual transfer switch

  As the name suggests, a manual transfer switch requires manual operation to switch power from the main grid to the generator.

Its disadvantage is that it cannot automatically handle high-voltage loads. Although cost-effective compared with automatic transfer switches, it requires manual intervention during power outages.

(2)Automatic transfer switch
